I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State with 20 years of experience. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and depression. I have significant experience working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma or difficulties in their families of origin. I also support professionals who work in outdoor-based or seasonal industries and world travelers looking to balance the unique challenges they face in non-traditional work settings and international living.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and use therapy techniques that focus on healing through the mind-body connection including mindfulness-based and eco-therapy interventions. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and have lived and worked outside of the United States in Costa Rica and in Spain.
During my career I have worked in community and school-based health centers, non-profit, outdoor, education and private practice settings and rural mental healthcare, providing individual, group, family and couples counseling, as well as psycho-education, training and consultation.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and have additional graduate training in career counseling from Walden University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State (LMHC). I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I) and Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C) in Oregon. I have post-graduate training in EDMR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care.
When I’m out of the office I enjoy spending time outside, running, hiking with my dogs, backpacking and traveling.
